US: CD $12
CANADA/INTL: CD $14
Including members of Dilute.
Jacques Kopstein's (a.k.a Marty Anderson from the band Dilute) debut release "a" is an absolute pleasure to listen to. Beautifully constructed songs both catchy and quirky (in a good way). After the first listen you will be hooked.
"Jacques Kopstein is actually Marty Anderson of local rockers Dilute. 'a' is his first solo record and it's pretty fucking great. Great, but really, really strange. Anderson plays all the instruments and does all the singing and even drew all the pictures. The disc starts off with wildly careening demented circus music but quickly mutates into gently strummed, dreamy and damaged folk pop, which is where it stays for most of the rest of the record. The Flaming Lips and Mercury Rev come immediately to mind. Beautiful pop songs stretched and twisted and peppered with bizarre sounds and populated by peculiar instruments, Anderson's keening sad boy wail and catchy-as-hell hooks."-- Aquarius Records
*Marty has worked with members of Rumah Sakit, Deerhoof, Tarentel, The Ants, and Lesser Lights
*Jay and Ian Pellicci (from Dilute) also appear on this recording
